Yekaterinburg honors top pediatric nurses in 'Best Medical Sister' contest

The 'Honor the Worker' contest has named its top medical professionals in the 'Best Medical Sister' category. Held in Yekaterinburg, the competition recognised nurses for their skill and dedication in pediatric care. Fourteen finalists from ten cities across the Sverdlovsk region took part in the event.

The contest tested participants on key nursing tasks. These included a written exam on professional duties, practical demonstrations of health check-ups, and simulated home visits. Contestants also had to perform CPR under assessment.

Darja Lunevaya, a district nurse at Pervouralsk's Children's City Hospital, claimed first place. A graduate of SOMK since 2014, she has spent 11 years in medicine. Svetlana Ivanova from Yekaterinburg's Children's Clinical Hospital No. 11 secured second position. Tatyana Filippova of Achitsky Central District Hospital finished third. Winners received letters of appreciation, certificates for further education, and a statuette of a sister of mercy. Organisers stated the contest aims to highlight the region's most qualified pediatric nurses. They also noted that such events help build greater trust between patients and medical staff.

The competition showcased the expertise of nurses from across the Sverdlovsk region. Winners gained professional recognition along with opportunities for further training. The awards ceremony marked the end of this year's contest in Yekaterinburg.
