Teen Hospitalized After Accidentally Drinking Gasoline While Fixing Scooter

A 16-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after accidentally poisoning himself with gasoline. The incident happened while he was repairing his scooter in a garage. His parents called for medical help once he showed signs of poisoning. The boy tried to siphon fuel from a canister using a hose. He used a dangerous method to create suction and swallowed a large amount of gasoline. Symptoms appeared shortly after, prompting his parents to call an ambulance.

He was admitted to intensive care 3.5 hours after the incident. Doctors stabilised his condition before moving him to the pediatric ward. Medical staff are still observing him to ensure no complications arise.

The Primorsky Territory Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation. Authorities will review the actions of child welfare agencies and examine the teen’s living conditions. Gasoline exposure can severely damage the liver, kidneys, and central nervous system. It may also cause chemical pneumonia, leading to respiratory failure. The boy remains under medical supervision as the inquiry continues.
