Sverdlovsk Perinatal Center Celebrates 80,000th Birth Milestone

The Sverdlovsk Regional Perinatal Center has marked a significant milestone by delivering its 80,000th baby. The facility opened on December 25, 2010, as part of the national Family project. It provides advanced medical care for women and children in the region. The center has supported the birth of 80,000 babies over the past 15 years. Among them, 15,000 were deeply premature or faced life-threatening conditions at birth. Its services include high-tech inpatient and outpatient care, and it holds the Baby-Friendly Hospital designation.

On December 23, a newborn girl named Zlata became the 80,000th baby delivered at the facility. She weighed 3,220 grams and measured 49 centimetres at birth. Her mother, Darina, praised the comfort and quality of care provided by the center’s team of nearly 500 professionals.

Tatyana Savina, deputy governor and health minister of Sverdlovsk Oblast, congratulated the parents and medical staff on behalf of Governor Denis Pasler. The center continues to play a key role in addressing complex medical conditions and supporting demographic trends in the region. The Sverdlovsk Regional Perinatal Center remains a vital healthcare provider for mothers and newborns. Its specialised care and experienced staff have contributed to the safe delivery of thousands of babies. The milestone of 80,000 births highlights its ongoing impact on the community.
