Madhya Pradesh Governor launches blood bank and sickle cell initiatives in Jhirniya

Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel recently inaugurated a blood bank in Jhirniya, Khargone, during a sickle cell awareness camp. He also outlined national efforts to tackle the disease and other health initiatives. Local MP Gyaneshwar Patil announced major development projects and support for vulnerable residents. Governor Patel addressed the sickle cell camp, emphasising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal to eradicate the disease by 2047. He noted that both central and state governments are collaborating to support those in need. He also praised the Sickle Cell Mitra initiative for its role in aiding patients.

The governor highlighted progress in tribal regions through schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana and the Dharti Aba Village Development Programme. He added that consistent medication over six months can effectively treat tuberculosis.

MP Gyaneshwar Patil announced a 1500 crore lift irrigation scheme for Jhirniya. He presented sickle cell certificates to two local women, Ranjana and Sanjana. Additionally, he donated two ambulances and a hearse to the Health Department. Food baskets were also given to tuberculosis patients Thavali Bai and Billor. The event in Jhirniya showcased government efforts to improve healthcare and infrastructure in tribal areas. New resources, including ambulances and a blood bank, are set to benefit the community. The irrigation scheme and health initiatives aim to address long-term needs in the region.
