Free infertility consultations in Magadan offer IVF hope to 27 women

Infertility affects a significant number of couples in Russia, with one in six or seven struggling to conceive. A diagnosis is typically given after a year of regular unprotected intercourse for those under 35, or after six months for women over 35. Specialists from the EmbryLife Reproduction Center in St. Petersburg recently held free in-person consultations in Magadan. Anastasia Denisovna Alekseeva led the sessions on April 20–21, 2026. Twenty-seven women from Magadan attended these consultations.

Five of them sought advice on frozen embryo transfer. Seventeen women from the Kolyma region were approved for IVF under mandatory health insurance and will travel to St. Petersburg for treatment. Another five were advised to undergo further examination and surgical treatment locally.

Infertility often involves both partners. Male factors contribute to 50–60% of cases, while female factors account for 40–50%. In 20–30% of cases, both partners have issues affecting fertility.
