Family Sues Grady EMS After Teen's Death Amid Ambulance Shortage Crisis

A multimillion-dollar lawsuit has been filed against Grady Hospital Corporation and Grady EMS. The lawsuit claims Grady EMS failed to notify emergency personnel or Mandy’s family that no ambulance could be dispatched. It also alleges the service did not request mutual aid from other providers, as required by Georgia law. With no help arriving, Mandy’s mother, Barbara Sylvester, drove her daughter to the hospital herself.

Grady Hospital has stated it will address the allegations through the legal process. Citing privacy laws, it cannot disclose details about patient care.
