Kindbody relocates frozen embryos amid patient notification concerns

Kindbody has reached an agreement with a cryogenic storage facility in Massachusetts. The New England Cryogenic Center will now provide long-term storage for the company’s reproductive patients. Some patients only learned of the change through social media or online posts. The embryos will be moved to the New England Cryogenic Center over the next three months. A specialised transport partner will handle the process. Patients with ongoing procedures until the end of August will keep their frozen tissues in Chicago for now.

Those with transfers planned in over 90 days will have their embryos shipped back and forth at no cost. Patients also have the option to opt out of the move entirely. They can choose to send their embryos to a different facility instead.

Not all patients received direct notification about the agreement. Lauren Soyk found out through a Facebook group. Olivia Blackert discovered the news after seeing screenshots online. The transfer process has already begun. Patients retain the right to redirect their embryos elsewhere if preferred. Kindbody has arranged free transport for eligible cases to minimise disruption.
