Pampanga aids 3,399 cancer patients with cash and medical supplies

Pampanga’s provincial government recently provided financial and medical aid to 3,399 cancer patients. The event took place at Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center and was led by Governor Lilia 'Nanay' Pineda. Each beneficiary received cash support and essential supplies to ease their medical burdens. Governor Pineda oversaw the distribution, ensuring each patient from the province’s 1st, 3rd, and 4th districts received P4,000 from the DSWD. Alongside the cash, the provincial government gave out 25 kilograms of rice and maintenance medicines to assist with ongoing treatment.

Loreta Quiambao, a resident of Mabalacat City, collected the aid on behalf of her sister, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. Quiambao shared that the support would help her family manage the high cost of medicines and other medical expenses.

During the event, Pineda also briefed attendees about PhilHealth’s YAKAP Program. The initiative offers additional healthcare benefits for cancer patients. The aid reached thousands of patients in need across Pampanga. Financial assistance, food supplies, and medicines were distributed to lighten their burdens. Beneficiaries now have access to additional resources through programs like YAKAP.
