Russia Sets New Medical Standard for Treating Hypertrichosis
Russia’s Health Ministry has introduced a new medical care standard for hypertrichosis. The condition involves abnormal hair growth in areas where hair does not typically appear. It can also signal deeper internal health issues. The standard outlines a thorough diagnostic process. Patients must undergo examination by both a cosmetologist and an endocrinologist. A skin biopsy is also required to confirm the diagnosis.
Treatment consists of depilation or epilation procedures, carried out on an outpatient basis. The recommended duration for therapy is one full year. The new guidelines aim to ensure consistent and effective care for those with hypertrichosis. The 365-day treatment course reflects the long-term nature of managing the condition. Early diagnosis may also help identify any related internal disorders.
