The first minutes of 2026 brought new life across Belarus. Several babies were born at the stroke of midnight, marking the start of the year with joy in multiple regions. Hospitals in Vitebsk and Grodno reported the arrivals within moments of the new year beginning. At Vitebsk City Clinical Maternity Hospital No. 2, a baby girl entered the world weighing 3,575 grams and measuring 53 centimetres. She scored an impressive 8 out of 9 on the Apgar scale, indicating strong health. This newborn is the sixth child for her family, who live in the town of Senno.
In the Grodno region, Lida Central District Hospital welcomed another baby girl. She weighed 3,500 grams and measured 54 centimetres. Unlike her Vitebsk counterpart, she is the third child in her family.
A third girl was born at the regional maternity hospital in Vitebsk region. She weighed 3,700 grams and measured 53 centimetres. The births occurred within the first minute of 2026, symbolising fresh beginnings for the families involved. Each child arrived healthy, bringing happiness to their parents and communities. Hospitals in both regions confirmed the timely deliveries as part of the year’s first moments.
