Leningradsky man faces court over wife's murder amid mental health diagnosis

A man from Leningradsky District will face court proceedings to decide on compulsory medical treatment. He is accused of killing his wife in April. The suspect allegedly struck his wife repeatedly with a kitchen frying pan on 11 April.

A psychological and psychiatric evaluation confirmed the man has a chronic mental disorder. Doctors diagnosed him with organic delusional disorder, which affects his ability to understand and control his actions. The case file, along with a motion for compulsory medical measures, has now been sent to the court. The court will review the evidence and the suspect’s mental health assessment. A decision on compulsory medical treatment will follow. The proceedings aim to address both the crime and the suspect’s condition.
