Magadan's AI-driven healthcare revolution targets remote communities and maternal health

Magadan is set to boost its healthcare system with new AI tools and a modern medical centre. Regional leaders see artificial intelligence as key to improving services in remote areas. The changes aim to support demographic growth and enhance care quality. Over the past year, partners have introduced AI systems to help doctors in the Magadan Region. These tools allow mobile medical teams to quickly access a patient’s three-year history and avoid missing critical details. The software works with medical operating systems, including Linux.

A new Maternal and Child Health Center is opening in Magadan with advanced equipment. The region also has the potential to become a reproductive health hub for surrounding areas.

By the end of summer, SOGAZ-Med will release clinical guidelines for general practitioners. These will focus on early detection of serious illnesses, shifting preventive check-ups from quantity to quality. Tatyana Savchenko, Deputy Chair of the Magadan Region Government, has highlighted the role of AI in supporting remote communities. Regional authorities and insurers will finalise the guidelines, train physicians, and organise interregional medical forums in Magadan. The new AI systems and healthcare strategy are expected to improve early diagnosis and overall medical support. These measures will strengthen the region’s ability to serve its population effectively.
