Mass health screenings in Primorsky Krai reveal hidden medical risks for thousands

Over 286,000 residents of Primorsky Krai have completed preventive medical check-ups in the first four months of this year. The screenings included full examinations and routine assessments aimed at early disease detection. A significant portion of participants required follow-up care. Of the total, 236,337 people underwent comprehensive medical examinations while 49,769 had routine preventive screenings. Among those assessed, 62,299 received reproductive health evaluations. These revealed risk factors in 7,885 men and 9,695 women.

Further testing identified 306 men and 4,406 women with conditions needing treatment. The screenings also uncovered 54 previously undiagnosed malignant tumours. Additionally, 575 cases of diabetes, 476 respiratory diseases, and 4,891 circulatory system disorders were detected.

Overall, one in three examined residents needed a second-stage assessment. As a result, 84,901 people were referred for additional testing due to health abnormalities. Nearly 85,000 residents have been directed for further medical evaluation since the start of the year. The findings highlight the importance of early detection in managing chronic and serious conditions. Health authorities continue to monitor and address the outcomes of these screenings.
