Six Simple Neck Exercises to Fight Visible Signs of Ageing
A new exercise routine targets the neck to combat signs of ageing. By the age of 40, many notice a softened jawline, reduced skin elasticity, and the appearance of a 'turkey neck' fold. Neck muscles, like other parts of the body, respond well to focused training. The suggested routine includes six controlled neck exercises. Each should be performed for 35-40 seconds, followed by a 20-second rest, with five rounds in total.
The first exercise, Chin Lift with Jaw Protrusion, involves lifting the chin upward while gently pushing the lower jaw forward. The second, Bottle Press with Your Chin, requires pressing the chin down into a bottle held against the collarbone.
Chin Lift with Lip Extension comes next, where the chin tilts upward and the lips pucker into a tight 'O'. This is followed by Chin to Shoulder, which involves lowering the chin diagonally toward the shoulder from a turned head position.
Side-to-Side Head Turns require turning the head slowly from side to side while standing against a wall. The final exercise, Head Lifts and Dips on All Fours, involves lowering and lifting the head while on all fours. The routine aims to strengthen neck muscles and improve appearance. Each exercise is designed to be simple yet effective. Consistency in performing these movements may help reduce visible signs of ageing in the neck area.
