Kazakhstan Sends 318-Ton Humanitarian Aid Convoy to Afghanistan

Kazakhstan has dispatched a large shipment of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. The cargo, weighing 318.8 metric tons, was organised under government instructions to support the Afghan people. It includes vital medical supplies, food, and shelter materials. The shipment was coordinated by KazAID in partnership with several ministries. It was transported by train and air to ensure timely delivery. The aid consists of 1.867 tons of essential medications and medical supplies, 300 tons of sugar, 100 summer tents, and bedding.

Alongside the supplies, a team of nine Kazakhstani doctors was sent to Afghanistan. They will provide medical consultations, hands-on care, and training workshops for local healthcare workers during Kazakhstan Medical Days.

Kazakhstan has also established the UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty. The centre will focus on strengthening cooperation, coordinating efforts towards Sustainable Development Goals, fostering trade, and attracting investment for Afghanistan. The aid delivery reflects Kazakhstan’s ongoing commitment to Afghanistan as a strategic partner in the region. The country views this support as part of its broader policy to assist the Afghan population and promote regional stability.
