From 15 to 19 June 2026, pharmacies across Germany will host the 7th Heart Week under the slogan #herzenssache. The event aims to showcase pharmacies as local health hubs. Heart disease remains a leading cause of death in the country, with Saxony-Anhalt reporting particularly high mortality rates from acute heart attacks. During Heart Week, pharmacies will offer free health consultations and checks. Visitors can receive blood pressure measurements, heart age assessments, and advice on nutrition, exercise, and quitting smoking. Information will also cover heart health, prevention, and how to respond in emergencies.
The programme will highlight gender-specific differences in heart attacks. Pharmacies will explain how women’s hearts often behave differently from men’s. Additional materials from the German Heart Foundation will be available for visitors to take home.
A new tool, the HerzFit app, will help participants determine their individual heart age. For further details on events, people can visit the official website at https://www.dein-herz-und-du.de/. The initiative seeks to raise awareness of heart health through accessible, local services. Pharmacies will provide practical support and resources to help people manage risks. The week-long campaign encourages early prevention and better understanding of cardiovascular diseases.
