Yakutia Proposes VAT Exemptions for Women Entrepreneurs in Beauty Sector
A proposal to introduce tax breaks for women entrepreneurs in Yakutia has gained traction among local officials. Gavriil Parakhin, a member of the republic's Il Tumen parliament, suggested VAT exemptions for female business owners during a recent discussion. The plan focuses on supporting those working in the beauty sector until 2028. Parakhin raised the issue at an off-site meeting of the State Duma faction in the Moscow region. He highlighted that Yakutia's entrepreneurial landscape is largely driven by women. The proposal aims to ease financial pressures on female-led businesses, particularly in beauty services.
Albina Kychkina, Yakutia's business ombudsman, recognised the need for stronger support for women entrepreneurs. She noted that existing tax policies already include incentives for social enterprises, where women play a major role. After reviewing the proposal, Kychkina agreed to consider VAT exemptions specifically for women in business. The discussion did not provide specific figures on the number of women entrepreneurs in Yakutia or their dominant sectors for 2023. However, officials emphasised the importance of targeted measures to boost female-led enterprises.
The proposal now moves to further review, with Kychkina's backing marking a key step forward. If approved, the VAT exemption could provide significant relief for women in Yakutia's beauty industry. The initiative reflects broader efforts to strengthen economic opportunities for female entrepreneurs in the region.
