Weld County extends free transit for seniors and disabled residents until 2026

Weld County has extended its partnership with Via Mobility Transit Services until the end of 2026. The programme offers free shared-ride transport for older adults and people with disabilities across Northern Colorado and parts of Wyoming. Over 200 registered users have already benefited from more than 7,000 rides since its launch in the region.

The service covers multiple towns, including Ault, Fort Lupton, Gilcrest, Hudson, Johnstown, Keenesburg, Kersey, Milliken, Nunn, and Platteville. It also reaches surrounding unincorporated areas, connecting residents to essential destinations like medical appointments, shops, and social visits. Riders must qualify for the programme and book trips in advance through Via's reservation system.

Weld County contributes around £46,000 annually to support the scheme, alongside other funding sources. The extension ensures continued access to free transport for eligible residents in unincorporated Weld County and nearby communities. More details and registration information are available on Via Mobility Services' website at https://viacolorado.org.

The agreement secures transport services for vulnerable residents through 2026. Those eligible can now rely on free shared rides for daily needs in Northern Colorado and Cheyenne, Wyoming. The programme's reach and funding remain stable under the renewed contract.
