Vietnam orders massive recall of 131 Vincos Cosmetics products over safety violations

Vietnamese authorities have ordered a nationwide recall of 131 cosmetic products made by Vincos Cosmetics Production JSC. The move comes after the company's factory failed to meet legally required production standards, marking one of the largest cosmetic recalls in the country in recent years.

The recall covers a wide range of products, including facial cleansers, serums, toners, and moisturizers. Also affected are body washes, sunscreens, deodorant sprays, and intimate hygiene gels. Of the 131 recalled items, 45 had already been sold domestically or exported before the order was issued.

Vincos Cosmetics and its distributors must now notify all retailers and consumers about the product recall. They are required to retrieve every non-compliant batch and destroy them under strict procedures. Retailers and service providers across Vietnam have been instructed to stop selling or using the listed products immediately and return them to suppliers.

Local regulators, particularly in major cities, will oversee the recall process. They have been tasked with ensuring compliance and penalizing any violations. The company must submit a detailed report on the recall and disposal process to the national authority by March 3. Monitoring results must then be reported back by March 18.

The action highlights Vietnam's tightening control over manufacturing standards in its fast-growing beauty and personal care sector, with this consumer report reflecting the government's push for stricter compliance in the expanding cosmetics industry.
