Vienna's 38th Austrian Women's Run opens registration for 30,000 hopefuls

The 38th Austrian Women's Run will take place in Vienna on May 31. Organisers expect around 30,000 participants for this year's main event. Registration is already open, with nearly 9,000 women and girls signed up so far.

The race offers three options: a five-kilometre run, a ten-kilometre run, and a five-kilometre Nordic walking course. The five-kilometre distance remains the most popular choice among participants.

Free preparatory training for the event begins on March 9. This initiative was first launched in 1997 by Ilse Dippmann, the event organiser and a seasoned runner herself. Dippmann has completed 33 marathons and has taken part in every edition of the Austrian Women's Run.

Isabella Egger, one of the trainers, helps participants prepare for the ten-kilometre race. Her goal is to get runners across the finish line in under 48 minutes.

The Austrian Women's Run continues to grow, attracting thousands of participants each year. With free training programmes and multiple race options, the event aims to encourage women of all fitness levels to take part. Registration remains open for those looking to join the 38th edition in Vienna.
