A recent gathering at Friedensburg Castle Hospital in Leutenberg brought together self-help groups from across Thuringia. The event focused on skin disease treatments while also encouraging personal connections among attendees. Participants valued both the medical discussions and the autumn setting of the historic location.
The Ostheim self-help group for skin diseases organised the visit to the dermatology clinic. Their aim was to explore treatment options and create opportunities for shared experiences. The group includes individuals living with neurodermatitis, psoriasis, and vitiligo.
Twelve self-help groups from Thuringia attended, alongside organisations like the Thuringian State Association of Self-Help Groups and the Saale-Orla District Self-Help Coordination. Local initiatives, including 'Selbsthilfe vor Ort' and cancer support networks, also joined the discussions. The clinic itself provides tailored, holistic care for dermatological conditions.
The meeting led to lively exchanges, particularly between the Ostheim group and another from Schleiz. Attendees appreciated the chance to learn from specialists while enjoying the seasonal atmosphere of the castle grounds.
The event strengthened connections between regional self-help networks and the clinic. Participants left with updated medical knowledge and new contacts within the support community. The hospital's approach to holistic dermatological care was a key topic of interest throughout the day.
