Tallinn's Out of Line Exhibition Redefines Women's Artistic Voices
A bold new exhibition called Out of Line has opened at Bästad Gallery in Tallinn's Põhjala Factory. The show brings together over 20 artists exploring women's experiences and unconventional perspectives through diverse art forms. Its launch on Saturday included live music, performances, and a special beer collaboration for International Women's Day. The exhibition's opening night featured a performance by Riga-based musician Amalija. Her set provided a lively backdrop to the event. Students from the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA) also took the stage with a drag show, adding a dynamic element to the celebration.
*Out of Line* runs throughout March, offering visitors a chance to engage with works that challenge traditional views of women. The pieces span different mediums, from visual art to experimental installations. To mark International Women's Day, the gallery teamed up with Tuletorn Brewery to create *Naisss!*, a limited-edition beer. The drink was served during the opening, tying the event's themes to a local craft collaboration.
The exhibition remains open all month at Bästad Gallery. Visitors can explore its mix of performances, visual art, and alternative narratives. The show's organisers have framed it as a space for reflection on women's roles and creative expression.
