Support Group Helps Couples Navigate Grief After Losing a Child
A support group for mothers who have lost a child is holding its next meeting on Thursday, June 11. The session, titled 'Partnership After Loss,' will focus on how couples cope with grief in different ways after experiencing a miscarriage or stillbirth. Known as 'Traces in the Heart – Living with a Star Child,' the group provides a space for those often called ‘star mothers’ to share their experiences and find support. The meeting will take place at the Lünen Health Center (Gesundheitshaus Lünen), located at Roggenmarkt 18–20. Attendees should use the side entrance to reach the group room on the top floor. Sessions are regularly scheduled for the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM.
Dipl.-Psych. Ina Fornefeld, a counsellor from the Lünen Marriage, Family, and Life Counseling Center, will lead the discussion. The event aims to help couples understand each other’s grief and strengthen their bond after loss. Organisers have asked interested participants to register in advance to secure their place.
The support group offers a dedicated space for parents navigating the challenges of child loss. By addressing how grief affects relationships, the meeting seeks to provide practical guidance and emotional support. Those wishing to attend must confirm their participation before the session.
