Steinfurt's Equal Opportunities Meetup Helps Women Restart Careers

Steinfurt District is hosting a special event to help women re-enter the workforce. Called the 'Chancengleichheit (Equal Opportunities) Meetup', it offers guidance on career changes, training, and returning to work after breaks. Organisers Kerstin Wessels and Elke Hüsing, the district's Equal Opportunity Officers, have invited all interested women to attend.

The meetup will take place on Wednesday, March 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Large Conference Hall of the Steinfurt District Administration Building. Attendees can explore regional training and continuing education programmes tailored to their needs.

On-site, various institutions and advisory services will be available for one-on-one consultations. The event aims to assist women looking to restart their careers, return after parental or caregiving leave, or gain new qualifications. A follow-up session, 'Shape Your Professional Future—Now!', is also scheduled for the same venue. Similar initiatives exist across Germany, with nationwide efforts like the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs' Action Weeks for Skilled Labour Security. Last year, 493 events were held between September 15–28, involving companies, networks, and institutions supporting workforce reintegration.

The Steinfurt meetup provides a supportive space for women to discuss career options and training. Personal consultations and regional programmes will be available during the event. Further details on future sessions and nationwide initiatives can be found through local advisory services.
