Russia Rolls Out Free Health Checks to Combat Premature Aging Nationwide

Russia has launched a nationwide program offering free medical tests to detect risks of premature aging. The initiative includes preventive health checkups, known as dispensarization, available at newly established healthy longevity centres. By the end of 2024, 80 such facilities had been opened or approved across the country, with 30 already operating in Moscow alone.

The program covers a wide range of assessments, including clinical blood tests, urinalysis, and biochemical screenings. Tests will measure markers like ferritin, C-reactive protein, and insulin, alongside evaluations of psychological well-being, metabolism, obesity risk, and cognitive function. All examinations will take place at the designated healthy longevity centres.

Residents of Krasnodar Territory aged 18 to 39 with mandatory health insurance can undergo the checkup every three years. In 2026, eligibility will extend to individuals born between 1987 and 2008. Those over 40 can access the exam annually, while others outside these age groups may still receive an expanded preventive checkup under the same insurance system.

Beyond Moscow, 50 additional centres have been approved in regions such as St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, and Krasnodar. The Russian government's decision aims to broaden access to early health risk detection nationwide.

The initiative provides structured, age-based access to preventive care, with regular checkups for adults under 40 and annual exams for older residents. By expanding the network of healthy longevity centres, authorities intend to improve early detection of aging-related health issues across the country.
