Passau's clothing swap event raises €240 for women's shelter

February 5, 2026

The clothing swap event in December drew large crowds at the Zeughaus Youth Center. Organized jointly by the city of Passau, the Passau City Youth Council (Stadtjugendring), and the university's Sustainability Group, the exchange gave many attendees the chance to trade well-preserved garments, refresh their wardrobes, and do good at the same time.

Through food and drink sales at the event, organizers raised €240 in donations, which were fully contributed to Passau's women's shelter.

The funds were presented to Katja Gabritzky, a board member of the shelter, who expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support. The clothing swap team had made it a priority to direct proceeds to an organization making a direct impact in the region and assisting people in acute crisis. Special thanks go to the many volunteers who helped plan, set up, and run the event.
