PAS spiritual leader Datuk Hashim Jasin remains in critical condition at Penang Hospital

Datuk Hashim Jasin, the spiritual leader of PAS, is now in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Penang Hospital. His condition remains unstable despite a recent medical procedure. Doctors have restricted all visits due to his fragile health.

Hashim Jasin was first treated for three days at a private clinic in Butterworth. His health declined rapidly, leading to his transfer to Penang Hospital on February 19, 2026. There, he was diagnosed with worsening pneumonia, acute respiratory distress, and sepsis, requiring advanced ventilator support and critical care.

Earlier, he had been moved from Tuanku Fauziah Hospital in Perlis to Penang Hospital for a specialized procedure. A stent implantation was successfully performed to address an arterial injury. However, his overall condition has not stabilized since the operation.

Medical staff have advised against any visitors at this time. The decision follows concerns over his ongoing instability and the need for uninterrupted treatment.

Hashim Jasin's health remains a serious concern despite the successful stent procedure. He continues to receive intensive care at Penang Hospital. Updates on his condition are expected as his treatment progresses.
