Neocor Launches Russia's Largest Bioprosthetic Heart Valve Plant in Kemerovo
Neocor JSC has opened a new bioprosthetic heart valve plant in Kemerovo. The facility marks a major expansion for the company, which specialises in cardiovascular implants. Funding for the project came from multiple sources, including state-backed loans and regional development funds. The total investment in the new plant reached 346 million rubles. Russia's Industry Development Fund (IDF) provided a subsidised loan of 90 million rubles, while SME Bank contributed 80 million rubles for construction. An additional 10 million rubles came from the Kuzbass Industrial Development Fund.
Neocor previously operated from rented premises but now occupies its own manufacturing complex. The upgraded facility will increase annual production of bioprosthetic heart valves from 2,000 to 4,500 units. Key customers include state and private cardiovascular surgery centres across Russia. The company's expansion strategy extends beyond domestic production. By 2025, Neocor plans to export its heart valve prostheses to three new markets in Latin America and Europe. Looking further ahead, it aims to produce transcatheter heart valves from animal tissues by 2027. Neocor manufactures a range of cardiovascular products, including annuloplasty rings, cardiovascular patches, and vascular bioprostheses. The new plant strengthens its capacity to meet growing demand both in Russia and abroad.
The Kemerovo facility boosts Neocor's production capabilities and supports its international growth plans. With increased output and new export targets, the company is set to expand its presence in global cardiovascular markets. The project also reflects broader efforts to develop Russia's medical manufacturing sector.
