Marburg's Feminist Town Hall Celebrates 40 Years of Equal Rights Advocacy

Marburg will host a 'Feminist Town Hall' event on Saturday, April 25, to celebrate 40 years of equal rights advocacy. The Equal Opportunity Commission and the Office for Gender Equality, Diversity, and Anti-Discrimination have organised the day-long programme, featuring art, discussions, and workshops open to all. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Town Hall, offering free workshops, film screenings, and creative activities. Visitors can explore an interactive 'walk-through dictionary' in the foyer, covering feminism, anti-feminism, and queer themes.

Artists Jessica Petraccaro-Goertsches and Hasret Sahin will present installations both inside and outside the building. The exhibition *We Look Good!* will highlight the beauty and confidence of women with disabilities. Meanwhile, an info fair will showcase the work of local partner organisations. Fair-trade coffee and tea will be served until 4 p.m. at the Marburg World Shop's café corner. Local publications on women's history in Marburg will also be available. Registration for the event is required by Wednesday, April 15. No details have been released on the number of groups involved or their specific projects at the event.

The 'Feminist Town Hall' marks four decades of progress in Marburg's fight for equality. Attendees can engage with art, discussions, and resources while supporting local initiatives. The event aims to bring together diverse voices for a day of reflection and action.
