Mainz 05 ultras donate €9,300 to support women's helpline against violence
A group of Mainz 05 ultras has donated €9,300 to the city's Women's Helpline. The funds were raised at Q-Block's annual Christmas market and handed over during a recent Bundesliga match. The donation will help expand the helpline's work on sexualised violence.
Q-Block, an alliance of ultras supporting 1. FSV Mainz 05, has long been active in local causes. They see community responsibility as central to their identity. Last year, they teamed up with the Mainz Women's Helpline to run joint workshops on violence prevention.
The money was collected at their Christmas market, a yearly event organised by the group. During halftime of the Mainz 05 vs. VfL Wolfsburg game, representatives presented the cheque to the helpline. The funds will go towards public outreach, networking, and education programmes.
This isn't the first time Q-Block has worked with the Women's Helpline. Their partnership grew stronger after last year's collaborative workshops. The donation builds on that ongoing cooperation.
The €9,300 will directly support the helpline's efforts to combat sexualised violence. Q-Block's contribution reflects their commitment to local social issues. The club's ultras continue to play an active role beyond the football stands.
