Lünen hosts film screening and support for grieving parents of lost children

A special film screening will take place in Lünen on Monday, January 26, 2026, focusing on the experiences of parents who have lost a child. The event, organised by the Lünen Girls’ and Women’s Network, aims to offer support and raise awareness through the documentary Traces in the Heart – Living with a Star Child. The screening will begin at 6:00 PM at the Persiluhr Community Center, accessible via Gartenstraße 4. No registration is needed, and the event is open to parents of star children, their families, and anyone interested in the topic.

After the film, attendees will have the chance to share their thoughts and experiences in a confidential setting until around 8:00 PM. The evening also marks the start of a new guided support group for star mothers, which will meet every second Thursday from February at 6:00 PM at the Health Center on Roggenmarkt 20. The initiative is coordinated by the City of Lünen’s Family Office alongside other local partners. The support group is designed to give affected mothers a regular, safe space for conversation and mutual support.

The event provides an opportunity for reflection and connection for those who have experienced the loss of a child. With both the film and the new support group, the Lünen Girls’ and Women’s Network seeks to foster ongoing companionship and understanding within the community.
