Kolyma's Women Lead Change with Groundbreaking New Survey
A new survey has launched in Kolyma to gather insights from women across the region. The initiative, titled Women of Kolyma: Developing the North, seeks to strengthen female participation in tackling local socioeconomic issues. Organisers hope the responses will shape future policies and community projects.
The project began after a meeting between Anatoly Shirokov, chair of the Magadan Regional Duma, and leading women from different professional fields in Kolyma. Their discussions highlighted the need for greater female involvement in civic and political decision-making.
The survey, now live, includes 16 questions focused on women's work experiences and the challenges they encounter. It remains open to all female residents of Kolyma until **March 29, 2023**. Once collected, the findings will help identify key priorities for the region. These results will also guide the implementation of proposals put forward by women in the community.
The Women of Kolyma initiative marks a step toward amplifying female voices in regional development. By analysing survey responses, the Magadan Regional Duma aims to create targeted solutions for Kolyma's socioeconomic needs. The deadline for participation is set for late March 2023.
