Hanau's Cultural Forum Thrives with Record Visits and Innovative Library Services in 2025
Hanau's Cultural Forum experienced a bustling year in 2025, with nearly 400,000 visitors exploring its doors. The city library, nestled within the forum, broadened its services by introducing a 'Library of Things' and maintaining a robust digital presence through the eMedia-Netzwerk.
The Cultural Forum itself hosted 264 events throughout the year, drawing over 6,000 participants. Inside, the library's Wi-Fi network averaged 12,948 users monthly, with a peak of over 16,000 logins in April. Patrons also made extensive use of the internet PCs, logging over 13,000 hours and printing more than 63,000 pages.
The eMedia-Netzwerk provided access to 165,721 digital titles, alongside 3,339 in-house eMedia resources. For physical media, the B24 app enabled users to borrow items directly from the shelves using an RFID self-checkout system. Meanwhile, the MakerSpace held 52 events with 386 attendees, alongside regular open workshops and holiday projects.
In April, the 'Library of Things' launched, lending out 443 electronic devices such as e-readers and Tonieboxes by year's end. The Children's and Youth Library remained active, conducting 90 guided tours for over 1,600 participants and organizing 95 events with around 1,200 attendees. Overall, the library processed approximately 237,000 loans and welcomed 3,500 new members in 2025.
The figures underscore a year of high engagement at Hanau's Cultural Forum and city library. Digital services, physical loans, and educational events all saw strong participation. The expansion of offerings like the 'Library of Things' reflects ongoing efforts to adapt to community needs.
