Fulda's Church Celebrates Women's Day with Gospel Music and Unity

A special blessing service took place at Fulda's Holy Spirit Church on Sunday to mark International Women's Day. The event, titled Peace in the Valley – Amazing Grace, blended music, spirituality, and a sense of community across generations. Attendees included senior residents from the DRK Holy Spirit Senior Center, who joined in the celebrations with enthusiasm.

The service began with spiritual reflections led by Deaconess Dr. Bianca Reith. Her words honoured both the significance of International Women's Day and the universal desire for peace.

Berlin-based Elvis tribute artist Christian Gutsch performed gospel classics by Elvis Presley, accompanied by the vocal ensemble Divine Concern & Friends. Their music filled the church, adding to the uplifting atmosphere.

As part of the diocese's ongoing diaconal projects—Elvis in the Nursing Home and Wisdom in Old Age—the event aimed to foster cultural inclusion and spiritual care for older adults. Many senior women and men from the local care centre attended, their energy and joy standing out despite their years.

Toward the end of the service, the Gideons handed out Bibles and reflective readings. These materials reinforced the afternoon's themes of hope and tranquillity, leaving attendees with a lasting sense of connection.

The event served as a celebration of intergenerational solidarity, church partnership, and gender equality. By combining music, faith, and community, it highlighted the value of spiritual support for all ages. The service also underscored the diocese's commitment to inclusive projects that bring people together.
