FDA Approves LIFYORLITM, a Breakthrough for Resistant Ovarian Cancer Patients
A new cancer treatment, LIFYORLITM (relacorilant), has received FDA approval for patients with platinum-resistant ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer. The drug, developed by Corcept Therapeutics, will be distributed nationally through Onco360, the largest independent oncology pharmacy in the US. Approval came after successful results in the phase 3 ROSELLA clinical trial. LIFYORLITM is designed for adults who have undergone one to three prior treatments, including at least one with bevacizumab. It works as a reversible glucocorticoid receptor antagonist and is used alongside nab-paclitaxel. In preclinical studies, the combination enhanced tumour cell death and slowed cancer growth in human-derived models.
The FDA's decision followed the ROSELLA study, which met its primary goals of improving progression-free and overall survival. However, common side effects include fatigue, nausea, diarrhoea, and blood abnormalities such as lowered haemoglobin, neutrophils, and platelets. Some patients also reported rashes or reduced appetite.
Onco360, based in Louisville, Kentucky, will handle the drug's distribution. Founded in 2003, the company specialises in oncology pharmacy services and operates a network of accredited pharmacies nationwide. As part of PharMerica Corporation, it serves hospitals, cancer centres, and manufacturers. LIFYORLITM received approval on 25 March 2026, marking a new option for patients with resistant ovarian cancers. Onco360's role as the national pharmacy partner ensures widespread access through its accredited network. The treatment's effectiveness and safety will continue to be monitored as it reaches more patients.
