Fake doctor in Valencia performed 180 illegal cosmetic treatments on unsuspecting clients

A 36-year-old woman in Valencia is under investigation for posing as a doctor and performing illegal cosmetic procedures. The case came to light after a healthcare worker filed a complaint in March, triggering a wider probe into her activities.

The suspect, a dental school graduate, advertised her services on social media while working at multiple aesthetic clinics across Valencia province. She also carried out treatments at her own home, despite having no medical licence.

An operation named Zubar uncovered over 180 unauthorized procedures, including Botox and hyaluronic acid injections, on at least 80 clients. Many of the clinics where she operated lacked the required Permiso U48 administrative licence. Inspections revealed no proper refrigeration for medical products and no safe systems for handling biological waste.

The Civil Guard could not confirm the legality or traceability of the botulinum toxin she used. Health authorities stressed that cosmetic procedures must only be performed by licensed aesthetic medicine specialists.

She now faces charges of professional intrusiveness, endangering public health through unauthorized drug administration, and document forgery.

The investigation highlights gaps in oversight at unlicensed aesthetic clinics. Authorities have not released data on similar cases in Valencia over the past five years. The outcome of the legal proceedings against the woman remains pending.
