Dubai's FemTech Hub Launches to Revolutionize Women's Health Innovation

Expo City Dubai has launched the FemTech Hub, a new initiative aimed at tackling longstanding gaps in women's health. The platform will bring together healthcare leaders, innovators, and educators to drive progress in science, technology, and economic empowerment. Over its first year, the hub plans to support startups, train clinicians, and engage thousands of women across the region.

The FemTech Hub is the latest project under the Women's Pavilion, joining a growing portfolio of programmes focused on gender equity and empowerment. A partnership between Meem Foundation, American Hospital Dubai, and PeriCare, the initiative combines expertise in research, clinical care, and innovation to address women's health challenges in the Middle East and beyond.

By 2026, the hub will expand its activities, including the second edition of the FemTech Hackathon. Other key events, such as the Her Health Summit and Her Health Majlis, will also take place. These efforts align with a booming global FemTech industry, which is expected to surge from USD 51 billion in 2023 to nearly USD 267 billion by 2035.

In its first year alone, the hub aims to back over 15 startups and engage more than 1,000 women. It will also train over 100 clinicians while validating real-world health solutions. While exact global participation numbers for FemTech initiatives remain inconsistent, past events like the 2023 Global FemTech Hackathon drew around 500 attendees, highlighting growing interest in the field.

The FemTech Hub's launch marks a concerted push to improve access, knowledge, and innovation in women's health. With structured support for startups, training for medical professionals, and large-scale engagement, the initiative seeks measurable progress in the region. The collaboration between leading organisations signals a long-term commitment to closing critical gaps in healthcare.
