Double joy on International Women's Day as two newborns arrive in Uhta
Two newborns arrived at Uhta's maternity hospital on International Women's Day. A baby boy and a baby girl were born within hours of each other on March 8. Mayor Marina Metelyova later shared her congratulations with both families.
The boy, weighing 4.17 kg (9 lbs 3 oz) and measuring 55 cm (21.6 in), was born at 8:08 a.m. His mother is a local resident of Uhta. The girl, born at the same hospital, weighed 4.06 kg (8 lbs 15 oz) and matched the boy's length. Her mother comes from the nearby town of Pechora.
Mayor Metelyova publicly wished the infants good health. She also expressed hopes for the parents' happiness and strength in raising their children. The births were announced by the MAKH organisation as part of the day's celebrations.
No official figures have been released on twin births at the clinic so far this year. The two newborns mark a special arrival on a day dedicated to honouring women. Their families now begin the next chapter with their new additions.
