Five social entrepreneurs have secured a total of $270,000 in funding at United Way of Metropolitan Dallas’ 2026 The Pitch competition. The event recognised projects tackling education, health, and income challenges in North Texas. A reproductive health app called Dotted took home the top honours. Dotted claimed the Social Innovator of the Year title, earning $60,000 as the competition’s highest prize. The app helps women track periods, access medical advice, and manage conditions like endometriosis and PCOS. It also sells reusable period underwear made from bamboo fibres. In total, Dotted received $115,000, including the $30,000 Audience Choice Award.
From Ordinary to Extraordinary won two awards: the $20,000 Impact Award for career training for domestic violence survivors and the $15,000 Presentation Prize for outstanding storytelling. Cooking for the Crowd secured the $20,000 Innovation Award for supplying affordable, nutritious meals to nonprofits.
All five finalists also took home a $25,000 Accelerator Prize, ensuring each received funding to support their work. The competition distributed $270,000 to initiatives improving lives across North Texas. Dotted’s reproductive health solutions and From Ordinary to Extraordinary’s career support for survivors were among the standout projects. Each winner will now use the funds to expand their impact in the region.
