A new strategic document aims to ensure affordable healthcare, increase life expectancy, and introduce cutting-edge technologies.

The Ministry of Health has developed a Healthcare Development Concept through 2029 as part of the National Development Plan and government directives, according to the ministry's press service.

The concept outlines comprehensive systemic measures, including the expansion of integrated medical care, the adoption of next-generation digital solutions, strengthening the healthcare workforce, and advancing medical research.

Its primary goal is to raise life expectancy to 77 years by 2029 and reduce premature mortality from major non-communicable diseases—such as cardiovascular conditions, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory illnesses. The document features nine key strategic priorities, including modernizing primary healthcare, improving access to medical services, implementing high-tech and personalized medicine, enhancing drug provision, and developing the domestic pharmaceutical industry, the ministry reported.

Officials added that the concept includes 168 initiatives and a set of performance indicators to be implemented at both the national and regional levels.

The document was drafted with input from leading experts, the scientific community, medical universities, and international organizations, including the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and UNFPA.

The ministry emphasizes that implementing the concept will improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare, strengthen the resilience of the healthcare system, and further enhance public health across the country.
