Carbon monoxide leak in Mexico City apartments sends three to urgent care
A carbon monoxide leak in Mexico City’s Granjas México neighbourhood left two adults and a six-month-old baby needing urgent medical attention. Neighbours raised the alarm after noticing signs of poisoning inside the apartments. The incident happened when a water heater’s control knobs were left improperly closed. This caused carbon monoxide to build up in the apartments. Neighbours spotted the victims showing clear symptoms of poisoning and immediately contacted Civil Protection. Emergency responders arrived quickly and treated all three victims at the scene. They provided pre-hospital care but did not transport anyone to a medical facility. Authorities have not released the names of the victims or the apartments’ owner. The poisoning was traced back to a faulty water heater setup. Emergency teams confirmed the victims received treatment on-site. No further updates on their condition have been reported.
