An 11-year-old boy from Verkhnyaya Salda has survived a life-threatening fall thanks to swift medical intervention. Vanya Dobrynin suffered severe injuries that risked permanent disability, but coordinated efforts across three cities saved his life. His recovery is now being monitored by specialists in Yekaterinburg.
The accident happened when Vanya fell from a height, leaving him with critical injuries. His friends immediately called an ambulance, prompting emergency dispatchers and paramedics in Verkhnyaya Salda to provide first aid. They stabilised his condition before rushing him to Nizhny Tagil for urgent treatment.
In Nizhny Tagil, doctors conducted diagnostic tests, sutured his wounds, and prepared him for transfer. Recognising the severity of his injuries, they arranged an air ambulance to Yekaterinburg's Children's City Clinical Hospital No. 9. There, specialists performed multiple surgeries to save his kidney and prevent long-term disability. The region's modernised hospitals and efficient patient routing system played a key role in his survival. Advanced equipment and rapid transport ensured Vanya received the care he needed at each stage. After weeks of treatment, he has since returned to school, though he remains under medical supervision for rehabilitation.
Vanya's case highlights how coordinated emergency services and hospital upgrades can save lives in critical situations. He continues his recovery with regular check-ups in Yekaterinburg. The system that transported him between cities and provided specialised care remains vital for similar emergencies.
