Biysk launches citywide tick control campaign in public parks and streets

Authorities in Biysk have launched a large-scale campaign to control ticks in public spaces. The treatments, which began earlier this month, will cover more than a dozen key areas across the city. Officials have urged residents to take precautions while the work is underway. The acaricidal treatments started in early May and are set to finish by May 20. Pest control teams are focusing on busy urban spots, including Petrovsky Boulevard, Nagorny Park, and the green zone along Dekabristov Street. Particular attention is being given to areas where families and children gather.

After the tick prevention work, mosquito control efforts will follow, continuing through mid-June. Residents have been advised to avoid treated locations during and for several hours after spraying. The warning applies especially to those with children or pets.

The campaign aims to reduce tick populations in Biysk’s most visited public spaces. Once completed, mosquito control will take over, extending the pest management efforts into summer. Officials remind the public to stay clear of treated zones until it is safe to return.
