Regional Medical Center CEO Danette Kramer to retire after 30 years of leadership

Danette Kramer, CEO of Regional Medical Center (RMC) in San Jose, California, will retire at the end of 2026. Her departure marks the close of a 30-year career at the hospital, where she has held key leadership roles since joining in 1996. Kramer began her tenure at RMC in 1996, later serving as Business Manager from 1999 to 2000. She then became Chief Financial Officer, a position she held for over two decades until her appointment as CEO in 2021.

Throughout her career, she played a vital role in contract negotiations, staff recruitment, and service development. Her responsibilities also included facilities planning, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial analysis. Cathy Lilienthal, Chairman of the RMC Governing Board, recognised Kramer's significant contributions over three decades. To ensure a smooth transition, Kramer will remain in her role until December 31st, 2026. The Governing Board of Trustees will launch a formal search for her successor in the coming weeks.

Kramer's retirement concludes a long and influential career at RMC. The board will now focus on finding a new leader to guide the medical centre forward. Her final months in office will help prepare the organisation for this change.
